Have an opinion Share it with the 'Advertiser'

Source: Montgomery Advertiser, Ala.迷你倉最平Jan. 27--Go ahead and say it. Fire up the computer or break out a piece of paper ... and let it fly.Have an opinion about a vote by your state legislator? Love the great new elementary school principal where your child goes? Don't like the new billboard out on 65? Hate the noise coming from overnight road construction crews? We want to hear about it.Perhaps you have an opinion about the governor, red light cameras, our sports-obsessed society, stray cats, "global warming" and our harsh winter, potholes, road rage, exceptional teachers, an unsung hero in your neighborhood.Maybe you just have a beef with something read in the newspaper. Josh Moon's columns have been widely debated, as have the columns of Vanzetta McPherson and Gene Kamena, and our investigative work covering Alabama State University. What's your take on them?Whatever it is you have to share, get off your chest, celebrate or gripe about, consider this an open invitation to do so through the Advertiser. Our editorial pages are where we showcase the most important component of the newspaper's public service mission -- to be a responsible voice for community leadership and a forum for a free discussion of public issues.Public Interest Editor Jim Earnhardt oversees these pages and leads the editorial board in the formulation of our opinions. You provide the rest, through your letters and columns. When people share their thoughts through a Letter to the Editor, it makes for a richer reading experience. Our pages become more rooted in the community, more topical and engaging. It is our hope that this forum will provoke thought, start (or deepen) debate, and perh迷你倉ps drive you to act to be more involved in the community.Of course, some viewpoints are just as prone to infuriate, make you laugh or even elicit tears. The bottom line: Please join the conversation. Your opinion matters. Here's how to contribute:? Your letter should be no more than 250 words.? Be sure to include your name, address and daytime phone number so we can verify your submission. Only your name and hometown will be published.? We read every letter we receive, and edit for length and clarity.? Choose your words carefully. We do not accept letters that contain profanity, racism, mistruths or personal attacks. Do not call out another writer personally; address the topic.? Letters that contain libelous or slanderous statements will either be edited or rejected.? Submit typewritten letters. We will consider handwritten letters, providing the handwriting is legible.? We strive for balance, but there are times when we may only receive letters representing one side of an issue.? We don't publish obvious organized attempts to flood us with mail on a given topic.? We don't publish form letters, anonymous letters or letters without an address and phone number.? Mail your letters to: Letters to the Editor, 425 Molton St., Montgomery AL 36104. Email them to: .montgomeryadvertiser/com/section/SUBMITLETTER. FAX letters to: 334-261-1521.? If you just want to leave a voice message with your opinion, call our BE HEARD line at 334-245-7837 and follow the instructions.Copyright: ___ (c)2014 the Montgomery Advertiser (Montgomery, Ala.)
