Source: Tulsa World, Okla.mini storageJan. 03--Tulsa man sentenced toprobation in theft of ATMA Tulsa man was sentenced Thursday to five years of probation after admitting that he used a cement-mixer truck in June to uproot an ATM that reportedly contained nearly $50,000.Daniel Laron Jones was ordered by U.S. District Judge John Dowdell to spend the first eight months of probation under house arrest and to contribute toward $115,102.20 in restitution, which includes the cost of replacing the ATM.Jones, 27, pleaded guilty July 25 to a federal conspiracy charge that involved the June 9 theft from the Tulsa Federal Credit Union at 3017 W. Main St. in Jenks.Pieces of the ATM were found spread across a field behind the credit union, according to an affidavit.Jones was identified as a suspect on June 10 after publicized video surveillance footage prompted tips.Investigators think at least four other people were involved in the crime, but none of them have been arrested yet, Assistant U.S. Attorney Trent Shores said.Jones' attorney, Stan Monroe, told the court that he believes that one of the other people involved was subsequently the victim of an unrelated homicide and that another has fled the state.Jones, who claimed Thursday that he never received any of the approximately $48,000 contained in the ATM, could face as much as five years in prison if his probation is revoked.-- David Harper, World Staff WriterTulsan jailed on indecentexposure complaintsA Tulsa man was arrested on New Year's Day after he was seen exposing himself in a neighborhood.Ricky Joe Lewis was approached by Tulsa police officers about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of North Gary Place after residents reported that he had been exposing himself and masturbating across the street from their home.Lewis, 52, told police that he stopped to urinate behind a bush in the front yard of a home on the same street, according to an arrest report.He was booked into the Tulsa Jail with bail set at $20,000 on two indecent exposure complaints, jail records show.-- KENDRICK MARSHALL,World Staff WriterThree men are sought inTulsa carjacking, robberyPolice are searching for three men who carjacked and robbed a Tulsa family at gunpoint.Officer Leland Ashley said three men wearing hooded sweatshirts confronted a couple and two young children in the 1300 block of North Atlanta Place about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday.The men, carrying handguns and a board, took the victims' keys and wallets and fled in their white 1995 Honda Odyssey with Oklahoma tag 686-BMQ, Ashley said.Police said the maleself storagevictim was struck in the back of the head but did not seek medical treatment. Bradshaw, 46, was the lone occupant of the car when it was hit by the pickup in the 900 block of South Richmond Avenue.Police said the pickup's driver was driving at a high speed after he tried to steal a trailer near 11th Street and Sheridan Road.Investigators said the pickup then hit a fence and utility pole before coming to rest.The driver got out of the pickup, removed his clothing and fled on foot, police said.Police later determined that the pickup had been reported stolen.The driver is described as a white man in his late 20s to early 30s with a short haircut, police said.Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.-- KENDRICK MARSHALL,World Staff WriterMuskogee officer shootsman who grabbed for gunMUSKOGEE -- A Muskogee police officer shot a man who reached for another officer's gun during a traffic stop Thursday afternoon, police said.The officers had stopped a stolen vehicle about 12:15 p.m., Cpl. Michael Mahan said.When one officer tried to take Thomas Estes, 33, of Muskogee into custody, a struggle ensued and Estes was shot by the other officer when Estes reportedly tried to grab the arresting officer's gun, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported.A medical helicopter flew Estes to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, the OSBI said. He was conscious at the time, Mahan said.The car's driver, identified as Marvin Green, 22, of Muskogee, was arrested on a complaint of receiving stolen property, the Muskogee Police Department reported. A female passenger was questioned and released, police said.The names of the officers were not released Thursday.
